So... blog lo. But I don't have a very... interesting topic to talk about, so... thought I would re-visit my old all-in-one blog and write something. No Audrey, I did not cease blogging. :P I just happened to go through a very lull period.

Yup, I am envious of those people who have a niche topic that they can blog endlessly about. I am not blessed with that kind of circumstances, so I shall blog with the only unchanging interest I have... all about myself. :D

I booked a car last week, a granite grey Proton Saga. It is expected to arrive any time now. If it's not tomorrow, then definitely sometime next week. Of course I am full of anticipation! :D Finally the freedom to break out of my own house anytime I want, how cool is that? On the plus side, while this is not my first car (actually my third car now), this is my very first brand new car. More reason to celebrate! :D

Well I know it's not one of those high-end Europe import, but woot... it's my car. So it's going to be the best car in the world!

New Bank Account

Opened a Public Bank account yesterday. I suppose this would be my new main bank account this day onwards. I have a bank account with Maybank but I think I might close it down in the future, unless I see the need for maintaining more than 1 account.

Main reason of me signing up with Public Bank is due to their Visa Electron debit card. You see Maybank as some sort of Visa debit card too (or is it Mastercard) but it doesn't work online. I mean seriously how often do you need a debit card if it's not for online usage? Pretty stupid imo. So I did a bit of research and found out that, Public Bank, RHB and Tune Money's Visa debit cards work fine online. And since Public Bank is a chinese company, more faith in my own race, and I went ahead opening an account there.

Blogspot Needs Some Stats Overview!

Blogspot should seriously consider including some stats overview in their dashboard. I am annoyed at how the easiest way to see if there is any new comment posted, is via the "Edit Post" section. Sure I can scroll down the blog and check the end of each post, but it is not very convenient especially when I post everyday, then I have to scroll all the way down.

I think Wordpress does quite well in this area, but I have no re-collection of the actual stats data they show anymore.

Yes I understand that Blogspot is primarily catered to people who love the simplicity of it. Truth is, there isn't. I didn't post anything.

Today is the third day that I am back. First day, I went straight to Ikea to survey a bit. I was tempted to buy stuff, but decided to hold back a little just to process everything. Yesterday, a carpenter came to my house and had a look at my room to build a closet. Today, I went back to Ikea and bought a desk and a mattress.

Technically that's about it. But I am still looking for, a proper bed base, which I might actually ask the carpenter to build for me. And a nice office chair. My house has extra la, just not quite comfortable for me. The arm-rests are so low that, my arms are dangling and not resting on any of it. Annoying.

At the same time, I am trying to decide the color of my closet. Also deciding whether I want to repaint my room before the closet is being installed. GAHHHH. Colors remain a very annoying question to me. Literally anything that has to do with colors, would fry my brain like what it is doing to me right now.

I feel like painting 2 of the walls in different color just to create a contrast. Ahaha... At the same time I am wondering if it's necessary. Would it create a pleasant visual stimulation?

Then I chose a very very subtle green color for my closet. I didn't want dark colors because of I don't want mosquitoes hiding there. If there is any mosquitoes in my room, it better be super obvious with the bright background, and I will get rid of it in no time. :P

Anyway, what goes well with a Beige wall color? My wall is a very subtle Beige color.

Twitter vs Facebook

Twitter thing has been really huge. A lot of people didn't get it and is like a full-time fanatic of it now. Others still don't, and probably won't too. Facebook wanted to buy Twitter. Google still talking to Twitter about the acquisition I heard. It is obviously the next big thing online! But what's so fascinating about Twitter really?

The answer lies in the vast information that it contains.

Yes they are just random short messages, most of the time gibberish too. But businesses are dying to know who talked about them. Random short messages like, "The new nike shoes are stupid" are valuable information that businesses want to get their hands onto which Google does not currently have. Well yes people do sometimes write an entire blog post or forum thread to rant or praise a certain something. But most people don't. And trust me, if you have an entire post targetted at you, you are probably in a very huge trouble.

There are more to this actually. Some argue that instant updates are very valuable for businesses too because if something goes wrong, they can fix it right away. It is not very obvious at this stage, but imagine when one day businesses start to monitor Twitter feeds instantly, how they could get in contact with their pissy customers and sort things out straight away. Talks about efficient and proactive customer service!

Anyway, as Facebook failed to acquire Twitter, Facebook has decided to create its own. The recent redesign of its homepage is an initiative to counter Twitter's popularity. There is still a lot to tweak, but is it a good start so far? I would say yes.

I was using Twitter for a while, but it surely isn't as attractive to Facebook. For one, my network remain small and negligible. Sure that after adding some popular figues, I do get some followers. None of these people really mean business, and I hardly get any feedback from them. So sometimes I wonder what's the point in tweeting anything at all. On Facebook it's different though, I updates all my friends, people who are really interested to all kind of craps that I am doing, and I get comments to motivate me to post even more stupid, and not so stupid updates.

People who really love Twitter are usually really famous themselves. Twitter is an easy tool to post short non-commital updates to their loyal fan base. And since it's a one-way relationship, it allows independent control over who you would like to receive feedbacks from, and who to post the updates to. But to the regular John Doe, this feature seems rather meaningless. I think Facebook has some sort of similar feature too, called Facebook Page is it? I am not sure.

Yes sure one day when I am really famous, when the work that I do invades my private life, then perhaps I see great incentive separating both of them. For now though, Facebook remains an attractive alternative just because I am posting to people who care, and I get feedback from people.

Skinnier?

When I go back to Melbourne, I can certainly feel that my life style and eating habit was taking a toll on my body. I wasn't eating enough, I was eating irregularly, and certainly that doesn't sound like a recipe to building more body weight. Strangely, others gotten fatter with such a life style. I bet they were nibbling too much on junk food that's why.

Well yes I was eating raw food once in a while, especially in the first 2 weeks. Then because I was hardly feeling full eating out, I didn't work out quite as much. Frankly, if you work out and you can't fill your tummy, it's the worst feeling ever! My portion is about 1.5 the size of a regular meal, so it's not easy to order. Plus food really isn't that cheap in Melbourne anyways.

So when I came back, being observably skinnier, I thought I had a lot to work on again. To my surprise, I still weight around 63kg. Now I have established this one thing that... my body weight now steadies at around 63kg since prior to this, I weighted around there anyway. This is of course good news because not losing weight is awesome!

Then I did a brief strength assessment so that I could find out where to resume my work out schedule (note I am following some sort of simple program). Again surprisingly, my strength didn't diminish much either.

Now in this house, lives a puzzled young man wondering why does he look skinnier when his weight and his strength didn't change much. HMMMM. Oh well I suppose I should make working out a regular routine anyway regardless of how I look.

Kuala Lumpur

After a month long holidaying in Melbourne, I am finally back in KL. My flight was rather empty so I was able to sleep lying down on 3 seats. But they were still freaking compact arghh... Damn Air Asia!

Now that I am back, first thing I need to do is furnish my room. Despite living in the room for 2 months prior to this, it has virtually nothing in there. I have a mattress and 2 tiny book shelves that's about it. So now that I come back, time to build a closet, get a bed frame, a desk, and a comfy seat for myself! Otherwise really, I have no where to unpack all my stuff.

I think within 2 weeks I will have most of my stuff ready. In fact 1 week would be more than enough already. The other tiny little things I have up to years to collect. :P

Either way, this is just a short post to tell you that... I have arrived safely. You won't see me in Melbourne for a while to come. But you can now find me in KL with my Malaysia mobile phone number.

There are still things to work on. I have been busy. Busy packing, busy catching up, and busy spending my last few days with my girlfriend. :) The truth is, it still hasn't really sunk in that I will be leaving Melbourne for a long while. I have been seeing all these friends of mine in Melbourne, and it just feels like I will see them again really soon anyways. Perhaps I will. :) Who knows?

Last night in Melbourne, quite a few funky events, but this is supposed to be an emo post before I leave. So not going to talk about weird weird stuff ahaha. In a nutshell, went dinner with friends, then Max Brenner, then missed the train, the missed the tram, caught the bus, found out there is another train, and basically was just running all over city in less than 15 minutes. However, we got home safely so it's all good. Else how will I be typing this blog post anyway? :P

So yea, a few people know that they won't be seeing me tomorrow, or in the near future, gave me some hugs. Some tighter than the others, some not so. It's in this time that I started wondering if I had make an impact in people's lives. I am leaving tomorrow, and how many of them will miss my presence. Will any of them miss me? Ahaha. Am I redundant and so disposable? And if I don't see this people ever again, will they still remember me after 20 years or so? I wonder. Of course, I hope that I will be missed. But even if I am not missed, hopefully my short time crossing others' lives have brought some happiness into their lives.

I am not a person with expressive emotions so I try to contain everything inside la, and just show the cool face. But deep inside, I know I will miss all these people around me. These people that I had spent so much time with, these people that I had share all my secrets and problems, these people who in my desperate hours of looking for dinner companions, offered their presence etc. I don't know when I will see you all again. Really. But the truth is, I will always remember all of you. Every single one of you.

Perhaps by a stroke of fate, I will see these people again. I'm not sure how many of them will still around in the future, but the funny thing is that... I am returning to my friends 13 years ago in Malaysia. I foresee them being my core group for a while to come. So maybe in the future, such an occurence would happen, then everybody gets together again and spend crazy moments together. :)

If you ask me if I am going to be back. I think it's a yes. In 3 years time, when my brother takes up his PR, I will find out if I can tag along too. Yes I have always wanted to go back to Malaysia to find out how I will be doing there. So these few years I will indulge myself in the experience I have always been wondering, about the life back in Malaysia, then I will decide again based on what experiences I crave. Melbourne is a nice place to settle down honestly. I especially love the weather!

Finally, sometimes I try to recall about what I used to do back home. Cybercafe, pool, mamak, movies etc... with friends who are not around anymore, around the college that I don't study anymore... truth is I also don't know what I am going to do back home lol. Just slowly rebuild my network I suppose. Tomorrow will be the last day of vacation. Sunday would be my rest day. Monday it is all about money and life once again!

Eitherway, take care everybody. I will miss you. *virtual bear hug to everybody*

Raw Food Diet Update

Previously after I talked about raw food diet, I have eaten quite a few raw food meals. They are nothing special, just a plate of raw salad, some cherry tomatoes, some bananas, and some nuts; and together with a cup of herbal tea yum. Basically, my lack of knowledge on raw food recipes means that I have been feasting on the same combination all the time rofl. No wonder I can't be eating it every meal you say!

One thing I don't like is that, they take too long to eat! My girlfriend was suggesting that I juice them and just drink it. I can definitely add in more fruits next time, juice them, and replace the herbal tea instead. I suppose I can juice the vegetables as well, but I am not sure if I should eat them to retain the fibres, so that it helps getting rid of junks from my bowels. I wonder if it would work if I blend everything together with the fibres and stuff, and just drink it. :X It might be quite yucky if I don't get the water portion right.

Another thing that I am very not used to is the lack of the feeling of full-ness. I often do not know whether I am eating enough because I am not full. But it is expected because raw food pass-by your stomach very quickly and are mainly being digested in your intestines instead. However though, while I did feel like I have an empty stomach, I did not have much hunger problems so far. So it seems like I definitely am having enough calories. Although if I actually continue my work out plans I might have to swallow more. >.> Anyway, it is said that because raw food is so much easier to break down and digest, you actually do not need as much energy as eating cooked food, especially meat. Why? Because a lot of the energy you consumed are spent on breaking down and digesting your food, hence a lot of them are wasted.

One very obvious improvement after I have eaten more raw food, is the awareness of emotions. I am one that is/was rather easy to get consumed by emotions, and am sometimes enjoying immersing myself in it and just feel the world (often via depression but whatever, it makes me think with the most clarity). Eating raw food gives me this feeling that, emotions are external. I am very aware of the emotional changes within me, and it feels so external in the sense that, I can actually now consciously select whether to give in to my emotions or just ignore it. It feels great particularly when dealing with fear, or anger. Suddenly something that I was often helpless with, am no longer the case. I feel like I can squash them if I want to. :) If there is only 1 reason why I wanna go 100% raw, this would be a significant enough reason.

Anyway, perhaps those that I am feeling are not emotions, but merely bodily functions. In one of my previous articles, Healthy Body = Good Fortune, I pointed out that how weak organs can create all sort of bad emotions. They might not even be emotions themselves. But I suppose an extended-period of being in such state, it is very easy to confuse true emotions from bodily reactions. I think what I felt for once was that, depression doesn't necessary leave me gasping for more air, and fear doesn't necessary speed up my heartbeats anymore. As such, they no longer jeopardize your decisions because they do not affect you at all physically. It is merely an indication on how you view things in relationship to yourself, not something that would trigger your survival instinct.

Why would people sometimes fear of making a decision so badly, as if it might kill them? Perhaps it might! When your slightest emotional changes trigger a whole load of negative bodily reactions, how can it not be life threatening? People DO die from bodily reactions... ie heart attack, high blood pressure, and also stroke.

Eitherway, I would love to increase more and more raw food intake through the next few years. It will get a while to get use to but it's okay. I am in no rush.

Yes Man!

Just watched Yes Man! Love it. So absolutely love it! It is one of those very powerful movies that makes you think real hard after the show, and wonder what would happen if you had done the same. I surely am wondering now if saying Yes! to every single thing in my life would be a good idea lol.

The movie actually made me realized that, I say no to quite a lot of things. Being a Capricorn, I am definitely a lot more reserved than usual people. And yes I do say a lot of no-es in my life and sometimes wonder why is it so boring. :X I guess saying yes would be a nice change!

Then again, no way anybody can just say yes to everything right?! That's crazy! Then again really, the amount of faith you gotta hold just to keep saying yes must be tremendous. It would be nice to have that level of faith in my life.

The World Is Fine Even If Everything Is Free

Received some feedback on my previous post of "What if everything in this world is free?", just thought it would be interesting to discuss others concerns. Afterall if the system I propose is full of flaws, what's the use to go pursue it any further right?

The comment that I am posting here is posted by cheong, whom I believe is one of my primary school mates but :x Not too sure. Either way here it goes.

I salute you for your nice thoughts and suggestions on these free stuff for the people, the society and the world. Everything looks like possible as you wrote. I do agree with you for all your points.
Thank you. :) Hope you find it as an inspiring read.

hmm..can i voice out mine?
Yea sure go ahead!

If everyone owes a ferarri, wants to go out for countdown on 31/12, do u think everyone can get a parking place? how about traffic jams? U might be saying, ppl now having everything for free, so they will bulid better roads, paths, highways, parking lots because they'll contribute their best ideas of roads design to the society since everything is free..
First I would like to point out that, the system is definitely not without flaws. It is not perfect. Situations like the ones you mentioned is definite probable shall we convert the society structure into a free-for-all system. But I would like to ask in return, how would you deal with such situations if you know that where you will be driving to, is gonna be freaking jam and without parking space?

This isn't quite a free-society-only problem, so the solutions are already apparently in the existing world. Yup, you got it right. You don't drive. Will there be any sort of public transports? I would like to think so. But I can't tell you for sure because I am proposing a system, not creating a game. So I don't have every control on how the new society would like to reform itself. Would there be volunteer bus drivers doing community services? Will enthusiasts build train systems for the public? Will there be helicopter taxis that get you anywhere for free? Or maybe we will just all cycle because enthusiasts might not build enough cars for everybody. And they don't care because they don't sell the cars. They are just making it for fun.

So I suppose I came to another interesting point to delve into. If everything is free, would there be enough supply to satisfy the demand? People would build things just based on what they want to do. If you want something, say a car... You would need to ask for a favour. So is it very easy to get that many Ferraris on the street? I think no. When you are asking for a favour, you better have very convincing reasons of why you want a Ferrari. A good answer would be like, I am passionate about driving and I want to go into F1! A bad answer would be like, I just want to go around and pick up chicks. However, I foresee a bloom of DIY revolution, where information and technologies are so freely available, everyone can build their anything. I suppose when you go to a spareparts warehouse and you ask for free parts, they ask why? An answer that you are building your own car is rather acceptable.

But it would be inaccurate to say that a free society would have better everything, roads, highways, parking etc. It will only have better everything if the society deems that such things are required. Take note that to build any massive infrastructure, you need to mobilize a lot of people. Unless enough people are convinced that they are using their time for the betterment of the society, it's unlikely that people will spend their time fulfilling others agenda for no reason. They may be free, but they are not without other things to do too you know.

One thing though I know would be better is that: everyone would be happier not needing to worry about money and their own survival.

If everything is free, then there will be no control and quota on everything, everywhere. Everyone wants to stay in a big house with nice sea view or mountain view. Definitely the earth doesnt have enough place for each and everyone's dream.

I have briefly touched on the big house issue in the previous post. Similar to wanting a car, to build a big house, either you do it yourself or you ask someone else to do it for you. The bigger the house is, the more people you will need to ask a favour from, and the more justified you have to be. Again, why would people waste their time just to satisfy your ego? You offer zero compensation for their time you know? So the only other alternative would be, you build yourself. A big house, just you and your few family members? It's not going to be easy. You might just give up trying after going about it for a few years.

As for living in a nice sea view or mountain view. You do have a point. I am able to point out that, given the lack of developers strengthening the slopes of mountains, it may be a very bad idea to build a house up there yourself, but sea view has none of these nature disaster problems so it's a little tricky. Would everyone want to move to have a nice sea view? I definitely agree that a lot would. A lot wouldn't too. Living by the sea, you smell very bad, and everything in your house just rust so much faster. So it has its own share of problems too.

Yet it would be interesting to see how the free society would adjust to such change. Granted, if enough people want more sea view or mountain view houses, I am confident that they will either extend the shore lines themselves, or build one entire mountain if they have to. Afterall it isn't news that we have many man-made islands now right? How hard is it to construct a mountain since it's really, just moving all the dirt you dumped into the sea, onto the ground.

I love to become a fashion designer, everyone can wear nice clothes, dresses for free. Who will be the one going to sew? The one that loves sewing?? how many ppl loves sewing? 100,000 wants to become designer to design the best dress ever to billions of ppl in the world. We definitely need more than 100,000 people to do sewing. So, who gonna do this dear Ben? haha..

This scenario is very similar to my rubbish collector argument previously. Given that there is a job that no one is willing to take it up on, it would be perceived very highly by the society itself if someone volunteerily take it up. It is the so-called honour points that you get to score and add onto your reputation if you are willing to take up the unwanted tasks. Same person does not need to commit himself or anything. Just on and off volunteer would be enough. Afterall there are so many people in the society, there will be sufficient man power to deal with things. The thing with charity or volunteering work is that, people don't do it all the time. Not everybody flies to Africa and lives there to save the people you know. But going in there once in a while is already thought very highly by everyone around you. So there are definitely, advantages in doing such work.

Sooner or later, the society may have a minimal expectations of everybody. This could be unwritten expectations that everybody should at least get into some volunteering work. Then due to community pressure, more and more people might take up all these unwanted jobs.

What I would like to point out is that... You see in Malaysia, rubbish collectors are done manually. It would be hard to imagine why anybody would volunteer for such shit work right? You need to smell and grab the plastic bags full with rotten smell to dump. But in Australia, such work are done semi-automatically. That is, you get a rubbish truck with a mechanical arm. The truck driver stops in front of your house, extends the mechnical arm to grab the trash bin and dump it at the back of the truck. All work is done while the truck driver just sits comfortably in the air-conditioned truck sipping his morning coffee.

Now here is a few points to consider. Firstly, In Malaysia, a rubbish collector truck has like 1 driver plus at least 3 other collector. In Australia, just one driver is enough. So the amount of people needed is minimized greatly. Secondly, what stops Malaysia from getting the same mechnical truck that Australia uses? Money and tax, which is technically another form of moeny anyways. If everything is free, can Malaysia get it too? Hell yea. Finally, given enough people not wanting to perform such work, do you think human beings are not capable of designing something to perform the duties? For one, we could have rubbish collector robots. Or maybe we would have a rubbish sewage, automatically sucking all your rubbish away? What stops all the innovations from being implemented? Money! If there is no money in anything, people wouldn't even bother researching anything!

But coming back to your sewing questions. Yes fashion designers do sew their own clothes, they might be the ones that "love to" sew that you were talking about. The rest would likely to be volunteers sewing on and off as community service. Again, since all of these are done for free, I don't think that you suppose to get a new shirt every week. Everything is exchanged based on good will, and being greedy is not part of good will. However though, you are always welcome to DIY and sew your own clothes.

But, I truly feel happy for you to have such a big dream and feel great to have a friend like you.. hahaha..buddy..
Lol. It is really just a theory I have in my mind that I thought I would share any see what others think about it.

What If Everything In This World Is Free?

What if everything in this world is free? What if money doesn't exist, how will the world be like? Would it be a better place for all of us? Or would all of us be so superbly lazy?

To start, let's start with something basic and vital, food.

What if all food are free, that you can just go into a restaurant or canteen to request for any food you want to eat? Note that you would be requesting but not ordering, because hey, you are not paying for your food. If it's free, and people can't make money out of it, who do you think would cook? People who love to cook. Then you get all the best-est food in the world paying nothing for it. Since food is free anyway, basic survival needs of all mankind are guaranteed, you won't have crap chef cooking crap food conning crap customers to make a crap buck anymore.

But to look further, because now that the basic survival of mankind is guaranteed, it affects the society in an unimaginable way. First robberies, burglaries would be reduced tremendously. If you have no problem eating, even if you have no money, sleeping in a sleeping bag in the park or something isn't really that bad. Many people do desperate things during desperate situations, and feeding everyone free would eliminate them. Seriously if one person is going to die starving, does he even care for your wellfare? If police shoots him dead, better for him. It ends his endless struggle for food.

However, let's us just bring back the focus a little bit. If food is to be free, then the food supplies have to be free too right? How are the farmers, fishermen etc going to survive? Well farmers can basically work for free if they want to, but fishing involves some heavy machineries that cost a lot of money! Now it is not so much about mechanics not working for free, but heavy machineries require industrial grade equipments, which require other industrial grade equipments to produce. It's a huge chain of industrial age products there.

Now because if food is free, and that everyone does not have to worry about their own survival, everyone would only do what he/she loves to do, which in turn would make him/her the best in the field. So you will get the finest mechanics to make the ships, equipments and other machineries for you... for free. Still, industrial grade equipments don't come cheap. The process is complicated and usually are only viable for mass production, or at least to sell to companies with a lot of money. How can we bypass this to make everything free?

First, perhaps the mechanics can stick with making smaller boats, or refining some carpentry tactics for boat building. Second, I suppose if you want to eat meat or fish, it is possible to go grab them yourself? Fish yourself, or kill a pig yourself. There would be dedicated pig farm or fish pond for people to get their meat free of charge! And it doesn't matter to them because they either love doing it, or have nothing better to do since they don't have to worry about food now. Or perhaps, the final possible solution is that, since companies really don't exist for profits anymore, they wouldn't mind spending sometime designing and developing ships free of charge for people that truly wants them. The fishermen, the sailors, the adventurers, the every other ding dong!

But if everything is free, wouldn't all of us want to hog on everything we can lay our hands on? You asked. Free laptop, free iPhone, free helicopter... FUAH! But here is the thing, when you know that they are always free, and are always available there, you wouldn't quite bother to go all the way out and hog on things that you don't truly need right? Hell even if I give you a free helicopter, you will be thinking where the fuck do I park this thing? Or how the hell do I maintain this thing? You might just want to fly the helicopter once in a while and don't want to care about the problems of maintaining one, maybe you will just park your helicopters with the trusted free mechanics in the the air field. You probably wouldn't even care about other people using it or breaking it because hey, it's free. And if someone got the latest model of helicopters, they would park it at the air field too, and wouldn't care who flies it, I bet you would be so willing to share your helicopters now with the others.

Anyway, for items like free mobile phone, free laptop etc... Well if you are using it all the time then by all means go use it. There isn't really a need to share things because they are free. But when you do not want to use them anymore, maybe new models come out or something, surely you will be more than happy to give them away for free again right? Now some hobbyists could perhaps develop something special from all these old technologies. Did you know that Google's massive success lies mainly in its innovative capabilities to run on cheap computers parallelly? Whatever that they are doing since decade ago, is now the IN thing. Cloud computing is the way to go baby! So yea, someone out there could develop something super awesome out of old technologies, it will then become the latest technologies once again!

But what about houses and land and everything? Well sure people will build it for you for free, but humans are ultimately humans. If you want to build a whole mansion, you better have the convincing power to convince enough people that you need that much space and that they should do it for you. Too huge and people would think that it's a waste of their time doing things for you because you are just plain greedy. And no people don't care about what you use to bribe them since everything is free! There is nothing that they cannot get without your help! Even lands are free and you are free to build your house everywhere you want!

You may be thinking, if lands are free also, wouldn't people just fence up a huge area and call it their own? Maybe some will. But what's the point of living in such isolations? Wouldn't it be nice for people to live closer to each other? Plus it might be a maintenance nightmare if you have too huge of a yard. Think of all the grass and trees and animals roaming in your garden? Snakes in particular ewww. I wouldn't mind a nice cozy small house with everything that I ever need, because I know that if I ever wanted a bigger house, I can get it anytime... and it's again... FREE.

How about cars? If people can get cars for free, wouldn't everybody go for Ferraris? Well if that's the case just let there be only Ferraris la! Who cares about sedan or mpv when everybody can drive a Ferrari for free right? Then all these car enthusiasts would band together to create the best-est car every other day... for free! Because they love to do it and because they don't need any money.

How about government then? No money no tax no government? Why need a government when everybody can get everything for free? Do you think people would go around robbing people and murdering people? Even prostitutes would be free just because they enjoy having sex with strangers (at least from what I see on Adultfriendfinders.com, there are already a hell lot of them)! Burglaries, robberies, rapings would be reduced to a non-existant number. Murders well... I don't see why people would have clashes and end up killing people when they can have everything for free. I mean, there would be no ego clashes at least because everybody can have a Ferrari if they want to. Everybody would be thrilled working on what they are passionate about on a daily basis, they wouldn't even be upset enough to drink beer and act stupid afterwards. And since government at the present day is very much about maintaining the economy of the country, who cares about economy nothing costs anything anymore? There is practically no more economy!

You ask, surely for things like basic maintenance of the environment and rubbish collections etc would still require people to execute? You can have healthcare etc all for free, but who are going to be dumb enough to be willingly to collect rubbish for you for free?! And I reply, since that now everything is free... The only currency would be honours. People who would collect garbage for free would be perceived as honourable and be thought highly by their society. Everybody can use a little bit of praises and reputation eh? Plus it is just similar with current charities, to be doing a community service to give back and benefits the community that they are living in. So again, why need the government again?

My point of bring this all up is that... We could very much live in a utopia tomorrow if we all decide to in this very moment. It is very possible for everything to be free. We can then all live in a worriless life tomorrow onwards. Okay maybe not immediately, but if I am the leader of a nation, first thing I would do is to offer free meals to everybody! That would set off a chain reaction of free stuff through the nation and it would be awesome. There will then be free fish pond, free farms... and eventually free phones, free laptops as more people gain free time and spend their time developing what they love to do... And eventually free heavy machineries would be offered. Then the last obstacles of a free world will be eliminated, and an advanced society will thus take shape.

Shall we make everything free?

Blogging Professionally?

A lot of people asked me... They said, "Eh J, since you are so into internet business and all, why don't you start a blog and earn money like most of the others?" Truth is, I did. I had a World of Warcraft blog and it was earning me decent money until I sold it off. "So why don't you start another one then?" I replied, "I can't". And they ask the complimentary "why?"

Starting a professional blog is a lot harder than you think. Well actually it varies from people to people but let's just consider things from my point of view since this is my blog okay?

When I used to blog for wowPaladin.org, I took hours and hours reading up many articles and forum posts, just to find some gold nuggets to post. Often I will be grinding through meaningless stuff for 90% of the time, only to discover some nice little stuff at a small little corner for the 10% of the time. But it was all good. I was, and probably still am, rather fascinated by the game and the character I play, although the passion is generally on and off to me.

After World of Warcraft, which I stopped playing long time ago as somehow they have issues with my gfx card and it just totally lags the hell out of me, I have not been able to find a place where my passion lies more consistently anymore. Mainly this has much to do with my gift, or rather a curse. The gift is that I have ever expanding desire. It expands so much, so rapidly, I hardly have any consistent desire at any point of time. So it wasn't possible to write very specifically about a topic professionally, in much depth for people to read. I may be able to churn like a few articles before I get bored and move on. Sadness sia.

Writing in this blog has no restrictions, and I get to talk much about anything, then move on whenever I want. It is simple. But writing like this hardly would get me any traffic or money. Not a lot of people blog half way half way and somehow struck against a golden article, then converted his entire blog into that particular topic ok? *ahem at Paul*

If we are to review what have been the focus of my recent attention, let me see... I have been reading this boxed set of Conversations of God (which I think is banned in Malaysia), quite a few Law of Attraction books, then a health related book, some technical programming books, and that's about it. So yea, my attention is primarily on spiritual enlightenment lately. But at the same time, I am pondering on ways to make money, so there you go... a distracted thought. Of course, you know that I have been trying to build my body right (which kindda stop ever since I arrive in Melbourne, need to go back to KL first to resume)? So there, another unrelated topic. I have been reading up on politics and wondering about all these other alternative government arrangements that may work, another different focus. Ahahah... Geesh.

So how? You ask me ar? I also don't know. Maybe I am just not meant to be a professional blogger until I am more settled in. :/

Submission To Government

Ever wonder why human beings are so dumb? Why do we have to submit to a government that regulates our freedom? Are laws really necessary? Why can't we just do whatever we want? It is like while we, the general population should be in control of the government, more often, it's the other way around. Do you always pay to get shafted? You certainly do when you pay tax.

You may argue that laws are necessary to prevent murders, robberies, and all the other nasty crimes. Well maybe. But what about all these other regulations? Cannot modify you car. Cannot marry 2 husbands. Cannot plant marijuana. Cannot evade tax. Cannot this cannot that. A lot of the laws are plain ridiculous. Ever notice also how a lot of the laws, are to make the government stronger. And when the government is strong, they only mainly benefits a few people... namely the rich and powerful people.

Is law really an evolution of mankind? Or is the legal system an obstacle? I would like to believe that there would be a much better system out there to govern mankind. A system where a government does not regulate, but rather, assist the society as it sees fit. Laws should be not passed by 200 or so idiots. Laws should be passed by the entire nation! Surely the geniuses of the world can figure out something. :)

If you are wondering about the possibilities? Long long time ago, before the Qin dynasty in China. The other nations that Qin conquered, they weren't ruling via legal systems mind you. Yes the law system made Qin super strong as a country and eventually swallowed every other nation, but it must be a pain to live in there. Why? Even farming needs to follow a certain dates and times because that was the law. I heard that back in UK, it was an order to have sex because the King wanted more people in the nation long long time ago. It had something to do with fuck because apparently that's the abbreviation for some king's order.

2 Weeks Since, 2 Weeks More

When I first found out about my PR application got rejected, my mind went blank for a while. And it was only the first day in Melbourne. It felt like, all my plans went apart just like that. Blown off totally. Now they weren't very concrete plans, but I did have a bit of ideas what I would like to pursue, or even strengthen during my times here. So of course, suddenly I have to come out with a totally new set of ideas and plans because now? I am not spending the time here, and I won't be able to do the same things as well.

2 weeks quickly went passed since I touched down, also since my PR got rejected. Life has been empty so far. Note that I use the word sparingly because I don't mean it as in me feeling empty, I am having the time of my life here mind you. It's like a long international vacation that you don't have to worry about anything! But by empty, I mean it in the way of, I am not getting anything constructive done. Constructive in the sense of, heading towards where I want to, which is financial independence from my family.

But it's not to say that such a vacation is bad though. Maybe I really needed such a vacation. To be honest, any longer than this, I might have already started working on a lot of things. 1 month break is just nice. Why is it nice? Mainly because it gives me some time to withdraw myself from everything, and start reconsidering what is really working, and what is not.

For example, I had been very into this web development stuff. Still am really. The problem stem from having a lack of balance. That is, I feel very empty, lonely, and often depressed, when I spent my entire day working in front of a computer. I crave a lot of human interaction and this work that I am doing now isn't providing that. Does that mean I want to quit? Not really. I want pull myself out a little, but I still would love to work on things.

That is the main reason why I was thinking about going into real estate. It seems like an odd choice to many but really, when my desire is to have more human interactions, real estate fits in nicely. You would argue that, why real estate but not insurance or direct sales or mutual funds etc? Well those industries (other than maybe mutual funds) have quite a tainted image to them, and nah I don't enjoy persuading people to buy something they don't really need just for my own gain. It's against my principles. Real estate however, is more towards facilitating the proper value of exchange, where a buyer genuinely wants the product that the seller wants to exchange with money.

Personally, I think I have a lot to find out about the industry. But I think it might be a good direction to look into. Closer friends of mine would have known that I have always like properties so maybe this isn't too much of a surprise for them.

Apart from that though, I am looking into selling some goods on eBay. It is also another nice direction that I would like to look into. I have been pondering on that idea for years actually, just never really found a desirable product. We will see what happen to this.

Suddenly 3 months have passed since I celebrated the new year coming. Damn fast. Going to work harder!

Sold My Car

No more car lu. Stuck at home lu. Had to take bus to Clayton and it felt a bit funny because I don't think I had actually taken any bus to Clayton before this actually despite almost 4 years of staying in Clayton rofl.

Following a suggestion from a friend, I have been putting up quite a few ads on Gumtree.com.au, basically an Australian classified ads. The responses haven't been too bad at all, especially with one of my old laptop that was sold within minutes. *gasp* I wonder if $100 is too low for a 6-8 years old laptop? :/ I thought it would hardly be worth anything by now lol. My bad.

Anyway, I kind of knew this a while ago, but actually I really enjoy listing stuff online and replying to enquiries, eventually selling off my stuff. I don't know what's so fascinating about it, but I am actually enjoying the process of clearing my stuff. I would love to work on something similar, like selling stuff on eBay. It would so awesome! :) Anyone wanna tell me what's nice to sell from Malaysia?

Somehow, I love checking on enquiries about stuff I am selling, closing sales, also find out which one is not selling, review and edit my ads, and try again. Then if something is not selling, I will just advertise things on more avenues to try to get rid of them. I suppose I have a lot of freedom now because I don't really have a minimum price, other than a virtual one that I set for myself. If I am to conduct actual selling, obviously I can't be selling cheaper than my cost price, so there would a limit and a bit of challenge. Still, think that it might be interesting. :P Something other than real estate to think about.

Now if only the buyer and all the other buyers that said want to buy my things would come on-time. This morning the car buyer came 30 minutes late. This one even more absurd, 1 hour 30 mins late. What now I'm suppose to skip my freaking dinner waiting meh?!

Constructive Day *hums~*

I think today I had a very constructive day.

First, woke up at freaking 7am because I had appointments with 3 guys to check on my bike. I know I know, my photo taking skills probably too yeng edi, a hell lot of enquiries about my bike. I only entertained 3 of them and asked them to check out the bike together at 8.30am in university. Well the first guy was a bit rushed in checking the bike, possibly wanting to buy it asap, so he scheduled like the earliest possible time, which is today morning. It was kindda drizzling, so out of 3 guys, only 1 showed up. The was the 2nd person who contacted me, also from Malaysia. He likes the bike, tested it and seems fine, my price was reasonable too taking into account the defects of the bike, and so he paid on the spot without negotiating the price. Sweet.

I had to wait until around 11am for my girlfriend, meanwhile just tried to update my other blog that I am using to sell items. As a matter of fact that blog receives more traffic than this blog in just 2 days. Sadness.

The rest of the day, very quickly... I enquired about terminating my mobile phone contract. I received an appointment to inspect the car. I changed the name of my internet billing account. I showed the car to a Vietnamese who later expressed that he wants to buy it.

Now only the problem with selling the car to this guy is, he wants it now now. I would prefer to sell it when I am leaving, or at least if I am without car at the final week it wouldn't be so bad. Take away my car from me right now, I would be super handicapped. I have been relying on my car to get around so damn much. I am a bit hesitating if I should sell it to him la. He offered an okay price, without the need to do road worthy certificate. That itself will most likely save me a couple of hundred dollars. So it's definitely tempting, just need to plan out how I wish to proceed from here if I do sell off my car.

Meanwhile of course, the most ideal situation is that another buyer appears and agree to my arrangement. It would save me a lot of trouble. :) Either way, seems like my car should be settled more or less. There are definitely quite a few interested even among my group of friends. So I don't think I am too worried about it.

On the other hand, my room remains un-touched for the time being. Might have to do something to make it more attractive.

Resolutions For Tomorrow

Been out a wee bit too often, really should get something done. type='text'>Melbourne Oh Melbourne

Today was a rainy day. Went out in the morning at a relatively warm temperature, to coming back freezing my balls off... that's Melbourne for you.

Spent an entire day with my ex course mates today. Had dim sum and basically just hung around quite a bit till late. It was very normal but happy nonetheless. Just a couple of old friends getting together exchanging some thoughts couldn't have been better. :)

This time that I am back, I feel very relaxed and unoccupied. Few weeks ago I cancelled some of my projects remember? Now I am just putting some of my new start-up projects on hold while I work on my things in Australia. Life has been great when you don't have to think about work, and just really focused on having a good times with people. That is what I am doing now, I am truly enjoying it. I wish I could always spend my time this way.

Today, the wet air mixed with the smell of the grass was so refreshing! Sitting in my friend's quiet apartment, sipping a cup of premium chinese tea and talking a bit, Ahhh so nice. There was no pressure, so care free, I have nothing I need to rush off to, I was just there chilling.

I have to admit that with all these good times in the past week, my desire to leave Melbourne was slightly weakened. But I know all of these are just temporary. They wouldn't last. I have to go. Mondays will come, and friends will get busy again. I will then be all alone and bored again. Oh not to mention work again GAH. Defying social conditioning is like slow death progress sometimes.

But it's good to know that some of my friends are looking into investing and business now. Is it because we are Asians? :P It's good la. Those are more of the topics that I am happy to indulge in. I just wish I am more established in my own little ventures, then we could so do something together instead of just mere discussions. A friend was talking about investing in properties, it actually made me really wanna try becoming a real estate agent hmmm. Always thought a job that deals and interacts with people is something that I would love to do.

I suppose this post is a bit everywhere. In a nutshell:

I am having fun.

Mainly because I am not working or occupied with anything.

But also because I have been catching up with all sort of people while feeling extremely relaxed.

Also good to discover some old friends moving into directions that I am interested in.

Felt that being a real estate agent might be fun. Too much computers so far maybe?

I guess I am just happy. :)

Wish that this happiness would stay with me forever. What a nice feeling.

Grilled. Totally.

The news has spreaded really fast. Within days, most of my friends from all groups of friends are aware that I am leaving Melbourne very soon. Some know the exact reason, others was just told very briefly and reluctantly by me. Arghhh... It is not very interesting to repeat a same story for the N-th times la of course, especially when one is not particularly proud of it.

I think all my helpful friends just kindda made it worse without knowing by offering all sort of advices and ideas. :/Actually any attempt to prolong the discussion is totally against my will and I am seriously just trying to run away from the grilling. It a bit hard to explain why it's okay for me to not get the PR particularly when they weren't aware of my intention to go back earlier. Too much to answer, too lazy la. I hope they all read my blog then save me all the troubles of repeating everything and re-explaining lol.

Either way, I might still get my PR someday in the further future. Just not now. Now I need to work on something, and I don't think Melbourne is the best place to be for what I want to do.

Well if anybody wants to catch up or do me a farewell dinner, just let me know la. :)

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://jjsee.blogspot.com/2009/03/grilled-totally.html' title='Grilled. My PR application was processed... and I was rejected. Weird. Out of 100 friends that have applied, 99 of them have received it successfully. The last one was probably me who got rejected lol.

The issue behind my rejection is rather complicated, although the reason is not. You see I filled in my nominated occupation as an Electrical Engineer, seeing it as the best fit for my course Telecommunications Engineering. However, my course was assessed as a different category (namely Building and Professional Engineers), and that was the grounds that they rejected my application. Due to the limited time I had with my student visa, I had to submit my application form before I received my skill assessment results or I will have to exit Austalia and with that, I am not sure whether I could still apply under on-shore skilled migration.

Now there was also a complication with my skill assessment. You see my course wasn't accredited the first time I applied for skill assessment. They sent a letter to me claiming that my course wasn't registered and I had to go through some troublesome process which include many reports writing. After stressing for a couple of weeks, and being convinced by my university that my course was in fact accredited, I sent an email to Engineers Australia again asking for clarification. Fact is, I wasn't quite convinced that my university was right because I didn't think that Engineers Australia being such an important body, would make a mistake. Well it wasn't a mistake.

Engineers Australia replied and said that my course was just accredited like a week before my email, and they will re-process my application. Note that this was already September. My visa expired end of August. I received my skill assessment in October, with the date on the document stating 30th September 2008. And no I didn't realize that it was assessed as a different category because I ran the list many times and I just didn't think that a category named "Building and Professional Engineers" is not referring to Civil Engineering people, but all sort of engineers instead.

So the first point was, I couldn't get my skill assessment done in time to submit my PR application under the right nominated occupation. Second point was that, my course wasn't originally accredited so it was impossible to get the skill assessment done in time anyway. Third point was that, well yes I made a mistake, I should have asked for clarifications. But quite honestly, I thought it was obvious that it didn't mean my nominated occupation.

Eitherway, yes my PR application didn't go through. Yes I wasted a lot of money. Yes I am not going to appeal because after talking to an agent, he said my chances are very slim. Yes I had always somewhat regretted applying for PR, because I thought what if I don't want to stay here for the first 5 years, but much later? If my PR has expired then Australia wouldn't grant me another one in the far future. And yes I don't want to deal with the questions of whether to stay in KL or in Melbourne, it is never-ending and I never have a true solution to that.

Now, I am just breathing a sigh of relief. I seriously think that this is a blessing in disguise, ending my years long of confusion. It's like the world's way of showing me where I should go because I hadn't been listening, and now it has to forcefully show me the way. I am as a matter of fact, feeling extremely excited that I finally, get to stay grounded in one place... In my home town. And this time? Not even myself could bring me back to Melbourne. I am very tired and exhausted of fighting with myself deciding where to go, when to go, and what to do. Now the world has decided everything for me, I couldn't have asked for more. There have always been signs asking me to go back to KL actually. This is the ultimatum I suppose.

Anyway, with this new grounded feeling that I have acquired, I look forward into pouring my entire energy into financial gain this year. I can finally make plans with this extreme confidence that I will stay in the country for a very long time to come.

Although I have only just arrived Melbourne yesterday, looks like I will be leaving in one month's time. There is a lot to be settled in such short period.

I Guess This Is A Goodbye

Tonight, will be the last night I spend in KL. Tomorrow will be flying back to Melbourne edi. To be honest, I am very lazy to go back. Somehow somehow when I think of going back to Melbourne, it is just a whole bunch of issues waiting to be settled. It is annoying really. I guess I am really content hiding in my asylum here.

So yea, I have yet to pack, have a farewell dinner coming up tonight to farewell one of my relatives who is migrating to New Zealand, and hopefully in between the times I get the mood to pack hmm. I always pack last minute, but usually it's because I'm lazy. This time, it really feels like I don't want to go back ARGHH.

Oh, by the way it's funny to note how my relative is migrating to New Zealand because yesterday's newspaper just said that New Zealand might be the next Iceland... ie a bankrupt government. But he's mainly doing it for his kids to get free education so I suppose it's alright.

Pissy

Been feeling a bit pissy today. Or maybe teh tarik. It was a bit hard to resist, but I pushed through anyway. I was just drinking teh tarik 2 days ago, and right after I get the bits of stoning due to caffein intoxication thingie... and yesterday I was more or less down due to a subtle headache the entire day.

Now I think back, in 2008, in the times latter of the year where I try to decrease my coffee consumption, I too would face headaches. I remember one being so bad it lasted for 3 days and boy oh boy... didn't feel good at all. Of course I have read numerous articles about how coffee is bad etc, and how one might experience coffee withdrawal symptoms if they try to quit. It is a little similar to drugs addict trying to quit, and would suffer tremendously if they don't get their dosage.

My new understanding is that, as you stop intoxicating yourself, your body would regain its strength to fight back and get rid of all the toxins. Drug addicts have it really bad because what they were injecting into their body was extremely toxic. On this point I think it's well established and nobody would want to argue with me. Hence the very moment that the body is no longer "disabled" by additional dosage of toxins, it starts its mechanism straight away. Coffee addicts like me, who was previously drinking multiple cups a day kind of had it rather bad too lol.

Eitherway, pain... could either be massive death of body cells, or massive regrowth, according to my book la... in which both cases the corresponding parts may be swollen and pushing against the nerves, resulting pain. I was trying to figure out yesterday how could I confirm that my headache was a regrowth of cells and not death of cells, but I guess I figure it out today.

I feel fantastic today. I have great clarity of thoughts. I woke up really early feeling energitic. I just generally feel really good. And I don't think that one would feel this good if there are a lot of cells dying in his body right? It would probably be more like my usual self, where I have foggy minds, lazy, not feeling as awesome as I want to be.

So although I had cravings for coffee, instead I got myself a plate of raw greens, dips with thousand island sauce, with a cup of herbal tea yummm! I know the thousand island sauce isn't raw at all, we will work towards that in a moment. ;) Meanwhile, that plate of greens with that sauce taste awesomee!

Pakatan Rakyat vs Barisan Nasional

How do you see which government is more efficient? We have always argued about how bad Barisan Nasional's government is, but really, how good is Pakatan Rakyat's government also?

Now there is this "highway" in front my house, it's labelled Bukit Jalil Highway. No it has no tolls, but also because it has no tolls, the road conditions are like crap. My area is actually right at the border of KL and Selangor, probably in a triangle between DBKL, MPSJ, and MPPJ.

Why har? Because while my house is under KL, so under DBKL, there is a notice just outside my area saying that it's the border of MPSJ. To make it worse, there is also another sign like 100 yards away from that MPSJ sign saying that it's the border of something PJ. Lol.

Anyway, from my house, turn left is Selangor. If there is a junction for right turn, then right turn would be KL la.

So now, as I said the road conditions of Bukit Jalil is like crap. But starting like 2 weeks ago, they were fixing it already, resurfacing the road. Not surprisingly, they stop directly at the border of Selangor/KL lol, probably because it's an initiative by the PR Selangor state government.

So if I turn left, AHHHHH NICE HIGHWAY. If I use the other direction to KL, diu so bumpy. Nuff said about the two governments.

In Support Of Guns Ownership

I was reading a RPK's article just now, and then I came across this part. I thought I could use this to make a point that I have always had.

I remember, back in 2001, when ten of us, all Reformasi activists, were detained under the Internal Security Act. The Special Branch goaded us and asked whether we really think we can take over the government. You can take to the streets, said the police. You can even win the general elections. But we own the guns and we decide who gets to form the government.

Source: Malaysia Today

You see I have always been pro guns ownership. A lot of people would argue that, fuah if everyone owns a gun, the world would come to a doom. I think otherwise. Okay maybe the world would go through an adjustment period initially, but it would eventually reach an equilibrium and settle for the best of everybody.

Why would guns ownership be bad? Because now that everybody has a gun, they can just shoot people is it? If someone don't like you, they can just shoot you dead. How scary? That's often the first defence others offer. But I would like to argue that, wouldn't them be afraid that someone else would shoot them too?

The reason why robbers, burglars, criminals are so daring sometimes, it's because they know that they have an advantage that others don't have. They have firearms. With that comes power. Because now that they have a power that you don't have, they are able to control you, and subject you to doing things that they want you to. This is very similar theory of countries having nuclear weapons. Why USA wouldn't want Iran to have nuclear weapons? Because then they are equal, and USA wouldn't be able to demand Iran to do as told. Iran or even North Korea know this clearly, and so they have always been toying with nuclear weapons and making USA very nervous.

Imagine this scenario, a bunch of robbers rush into a bank to rob it. They take out their guns and tell everybody that they are here to rob the bank. When weapons are so accessible, things like this would surely happen more often right you argue? I say no. Because why? Now the dozens other people in the bank take out their own guns, and point at the robbers. How many robbers can you get? Ocean thirteen also only 13 people. A bank with its employees, guards and normal citizens would far outnumber the robbers.

Imagine this other scenario, someone got into a fight with others, and another one pull out his gun and point at him. He is very angry, he seems like he is set to kill him. Sure die la you say. If everyday happens like this, how will this country turn into? Yea, wait till other witnesses around that proximity take out their guns too and ask him to calm down. Okay given that there are no other witnesses, if the one who got pointed could create a distraction to pull out his own gun, he can now defend himself right? Even in the worst case scenario, he has no guns, no one is around, what do you think will happen? It wouldn't take too long for the shooter to regret because now the friends and the families can shoot him as easily as he shoot his victim. They would hunt him down.

No I don't mean it as legalizing guns equal to legalizing killings. Killings would still be illegal silly. But when everybody has the same power so to speak, mutual respect will form. Before any samseng wanna hit you, they think twice about whether you have a gun. Before any mat rempit want to rob you, they think twice about how many bullets you have. Before anybody want to pin you down and kill you, they have to think twice about how easy it is for the other party to do the same too. Nobody would be above anyone else then, peace would slowly spread through the country.

Now back to this case, if we... as the citizens of this nation, own our own guns, who cares about police or army? We would truly be the one to decide who runs this country. The villains that upset the country should be very very careful because we now have more guns than his entire police forces, and if we ask him to step down he better do.

Anyway, my point is that... guns don't kill people. People do. Why blame the guns? I for one believe that it could do as much good just as it could do as much bad.

Melbourne Here I Come!

I am going back to Melbourne in less than a week's time, technically speaking, I am like stoning. Lol. It's not about not being prepared or anything, maybe after so many times of flying back and forth, I just feel like.... Ermmm ok, so what?

I bet I will only be packing like a night or two before la. Even if I forgot to bring something, they can't be too important. So I should be quite set. My days in Melbourne would be quite numbered. When exactly would I leave Melbourne to come back for good is left to be decided. Practically speaking, July/August would probably be the latest I would stay till la. Unless I become damn loaded by then, I would just fly here and there and don't care. :P

Anyway, getting a bit off topic. I was talking to my girlfriend today on the phone, she asked me what did I do... and I was like, ermmm... Woke up, went out have lunch, coding after that, then no more edi. Zzz. That's basically my life for the past 9 months hmm. Occasionally I do have some outings but somehow, they just seem as routine as the rest of my life.

Hmm as such, I am thinking of making my life in Melbourne this year a little bit more exciting. And my plans are:

1. Learn dancing

I have always been a big fan of dancing. Hip hop, break dancing etc are particularly of interest to me. I have always shied away from learning the dances, but this year is a bit different because a friend wants to learn it as well. So this is like a great opportunity to explor something that I otherwise wouldn't explore at all.

2. Do my work in uni

Perhaps as a desperate measure to be more out there, more expose to streams of human, I might just subscribe to 3g broadband and do my work in uni lol. At least I get to see friends, at least I don't stone at home, at least things wouldn't be too mundane. When you are home, you can more or less foresee what's going to happen for the rest of the day without any surprises. It's quite boring la honestly.

3. Outdoor activities

Now this one is a bit less confirmed than the rest. Mainly because it's a bit dependant on my friends. My girlfriend said that they want to be more active organizing outdoor activities, and if they do then I will join more lo. :) But I scare they say only.

4. Badminton

Badminton weekly, much like last year actually, hardly a difference.

Hmmm... Don't know if I can have more things added to this list. Seems quite exhaustive already lol. Crap.

Healthy Body = Good Fortune

Let's talk about something... random today. Let's delve a little bit into chinese medicine. :) There is actually a relationship between how one behave, versus how healthy he really is, and I am going to show you briefly how. Here I will talk about the 5 main organs of a human body, namely the heart, the lungs, the stomach, the liver, and the kidneys.

Let's start with the easier ones.

Lungs

How do you know when you have weak lungs? You have weak lungs when you get depressed very easily. Have you ever realize why people like to sigh when they are depressed? It's because the lungs is not working as well and get uncomfortable, you are unconsciously trying to give it a push by inhaling more air and then push all of them out. It feels slightly better when you give it a huge sighhhh right? That's because it's not you, it's your lungs.

Also noticed why people like to smoke when they are down? Cigarettes are well-known to contain harmful toxins, these toxins once inhaled would incapacitate the lungs, causing the already weak lungs not to retaliate by not feeling uncomfortable. Eventually you will realize that smokers smoke more and more. As more and more toxins are stored in the lungs, the lungs try harder and harder to retaliate, then 1 or 2 ciggies wouldn't really work anymore, you need a lot more toxins injected to disable the retaliation.

Heart

People with weak heart, tends to get nervous easily. It's simple to visualize in modern medicine terms. When you are nervous, your blood pressure sky rocket. Heart being a key component in regulating blood pressure must have not been working as intended if you get nervous all the time. So if you get nervous too easily, time to do more cardio exercise. People with lack of confidence also have a weak heart.

Liver

When one's liver is weak, the person will be very impatient. Liver belongs to the wood element. Ever notice why in Malaysia, people tends to be a lot more impatient in general? Or how people gets impatient when they are really hot but not so much when they are really cold? Because when it's too hot, fire element is too strong, then the wood element would be very weak, hence liver would then become problematic.

Stomach

A person with a weak stomach would usually have appetite problem. As such they wouldn't be consuming too much food usually. This would normally lead to lack of energy, and consequently laziness. On a side note, even if one do not have appetite problem, and eats a lot, it does not mean that all the food eaten are absorbed properly. So a laziness problem would still likely to indicate a weak stomach.

Kidneys

If you have weak kidneys, your thoughts would be rather cluttered, confused, unclear, and mostly inconsistent. You will appear hesitant, inconsistent, confused most of the time. May I go a level higher to even suggest that, you would be dumber than you could have been because your thoughts aren't well established and you wouldn't be able to absorb informations quickly as you could.

Since I am not a professional, this article should just be referred and analysed through your own wisdom la.

Ultimately, my point of writing about this article is that... a healthy body, would minimize a lot of your daily problems. Like that you would minimize the chances of you going through "bad luck" due to simple mistakes that could have been avoided, then nothing but good fortune shall await you. :)

I Came From The Future

So I posted a message on Facebook tomorrow hmmmmmm... Tonight I am eating dinner alone again as my parents are going to a wedding dinner. So I thought, why not give it a try? So I went to Giant, bought some groceries to prepare for my dinner. I bought:

Mixed salad

Bananas

Apples

A pair of boxers (rofl)

For dinner, I squeezed some lime to be used as my dips for my salads, thinking that it would be best if I can also avoid using man-made dressing to go for the purest raw meal I can get. I also cut my apples into pieces so that I don't have to take a huge bite off the apples everytime, it's quite annoying.

The mixed salad that I bought was quite misleading. Because when I opened the box, there was nothing but different types of lettuce zzz. So I was chewing on lettuce for a good hour lol. The lime dips were TOO SOUR OMFG, and I refused to put sugar. So after a while of dipping it, I cannot take it already, I did it differently.

I took the pieces of apples, wrap in my lettuce and munch. Yummyyy. Except that I also threw in some lime juice on my apple, and the last few pieces of them tasted sour because they were soaked in the lime juice for quite a while. Ewww. Had to wash them but it was all good.

The bananas were purchased for the concern of not enough calories. Bananas have very high calories and that's why monkeys love to eat them. Bananas get them through the day! I actually only ate one but I might eat a few more.

Last but not least, to finish my dinner, I added some salted peanuts. This is definitely not raw. I would have bought some raw nuts from Giant if this is a daily thing, but I am leaving for Melbourne now and I am just giving it a try tonight, so no point buying a box of nuts if I am not gonna eat it other times. So I snacked on salted peanuts for fats. Why fats? Because fats allow me to not feel hungry so easily. I am not sure if I am eating enough peanuts actually HMMM. We will see how it goes tonight.

And finally, I am having lemon ginger mint tea as the final touch up. <3 Very refreshing tea.

Now that I think about it, it might be a bad idea to dive in totally in this raw food idea. Mainly because, IF I am not eating enough calories, then it wouldn't be a viable replacement for my normal meals. So what I am going to do is probably that, I am going to monitor how I feel after each raw food meal that I consume, on whether if I feel energitic, feel full, and feel happy. The thing is that, because vegetables and fruits don't stay in the stomach for very long, unlike meat, I would experience an empty stomach feeling but it isn't the same as normal hunger.

What I am trying to achieve by monitoring my consumption is so that it would be easier to convert in the future. Some said that it's easier to convert totally straight away, but I know that if I feel hungry all the time converted, it's very easy for my to chicken out. So in my terms, what's best for me is that, I will slowly figure this thing out before I switch. Get enough calories first, then we will talk about all the healthy benefits that I could gain if I am to switch totally. :)

An Happy Night Out

Tonight is one of those rare nights that I came home feeling extremely happy. I haven't really felt this satisfied in a very very long time edi. :) It was so different... so childish... so funny... so omg... the old days.

I just came back from my supposedly standard 6 class gathering. I was in 6C and although we had a gathering yesterday with just 6 of us, knowing that more people could make it today, I tried to organize another one at Old Town Taman Midah. I was expecting slightly more, probably 8-10 persons.

So I arrived there early around 8.50pm. I just had my dinner and I usually schedule gatherings for yum cha session because it's easier to talk when people are not too distracted eating. It was a rainy day, and everybody came late. I asked everybody to meet up around 9pm, and until around 10pm we still had only about 4, which is even worse than yesterday lol. Then 10pm onwards, more and more people started turning up. People showed up and called others to come immediately now. It really helps when everybody just stays around the area and it was so easy to get people out.

We could have more but some didn't turn up. I really don't like people ffk la. Then again I think it was them who lost out big time, so I didn't care much. In the end we have like 11 of us (and 1 who left earlier), then we met 2 other friends who were 1 year elder than us in high school and primary school, and then we met 2 other friends that we all know... plus their secondary school friends, whom our table know quite a few of them.

So we were more or less dominating that Old Town lol. If I am to really count all the tables related to us, we had like 6 tables. Our group only used 2, whereas there was another bigger group sitting directly next to us who are the secondary school friends to some that used 2 tables, and another table diagonal to us who are colleagues of a friend who was in our group, finally 2 friends I assume were sitting upstairs with their own table.

We were fucking noisy, laughing like idiots and yelling around, it was sooooo fun and funny! Then me and another friend brought our graduation books and rofl, so freaking funny looking back at our pictures and comments.

While the event itself was really enjoyable, I think ultimately I was just very very happy to meet back many of my super old friends only to discover that they are still the same. :) It was also very heart-warming that all of them remember me. I was particularly surprised that there was this girl, whom I don't think I was same class with, or even talked much in primary school, and not even that she recognized me, she even knows my name *gasp*. Sometimes I think that I am a lot more famous/popular that I actually think I am, like seriously hmm.

Anyhooot, I just think that I would be a lot happier being in KL. I feel that I belong to this place, I could just so be myself, not worry about my English accent, speak in my most comfortable Manglish slang, eat and drink stuff that I am so familiar with, hang out with friends that I grew up with.

Life is easy. Just always choose the happier path. Why make your life more difficult right?

Just A Little Bit More

Very quickly, my trip back to Malaysia is nearing an end. I planned to stay for 3 months actually. One hand while I really love the worri-less days here, I miss my girlfriend too. So I decided to go back 2 weeks earlier and see how she's doing. :)

I arrived Malaysia with around 58kg, about the standard weight I had been for the past full year. A little bit of history on my weight is that, I was 45kg during high school. About 50kg during college. Probably hovered between 52 to 55kg during my first three years in Melbourne.

End of 2007, I decided to take my weight a bit more seriously, and I started drinking protein drinks. Ahaha. I was a lazy bastard so I was only on and off doing some random work-outs. My weight shot up to around 58 to 60kg. When I got back to Melbourne, my weight dropped a little, but usually steadied between 56kg to 58kg.

This time, I came back to KL, I thought I would give it another push. Well technically that's incorrect because while mentally I want to give it another push, physically I hardly did anything different. I started working out a bit and that's the only difference I ever had. No protein drinks no forceful swallow of excessive food etc. And now, I just measured, I am 64.5kg. :)

My target for this time was 65kg before I go back. I am seriously anticipating that milestone. It's just a figure but it's a huge step for me because I had never been this heavy (or for people, light) before. I still remember the days when I was only 20kg lol.

Anyhow, I suspect I would not be satisfied with 65kg. Looking at my size now, I think 75kg would be the next target. :) Meanwhile as I continue to gain my weight naturally, I shall focus on my health a little.

Twitter Is Awesome!

Hmmm Twitter is seriously addictive. This Friday Is Coming

Primary school gathering this friday. What to expect? It has been 13 years since I last saw many of these fellas.

Truth is, I had attended quite a few primary school gatherings before. But actually none of them were for my standard 6 class lol. I was in 6C, and I was in 5G. Now 6G have been very enthusiastically organizing their gathering, and usually I just tagged along because I do know everyone in that class anyway.

So yea, after an ex-classmate released our class photo that time (obviously without anybody's consent lol), it attracted a lot of attention from everyone on Facebook. Suddenly everybody started tagging people and we managed to rebuild quite a bit of our broken network ever since 1996. Technology is a really wonderful thing. ;)

So... Don't know what to expect. Will people attend will people not attend? Where are all of us since 13 years ago we last met each other? :) Ahhhh... sweet old memories.

Oh, and there is another reason to call my old house my neighbourhood. All these old friends of mine still mostly stay around there. >.> Would have thought that most moved.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://jjsee.blogspot.com/2009/02/ooo-this-friday-is-coming.html' title='Ooo... While I am pretty sure that there are still people playing this game on and off around the world these days, it is definitely not as popular anymore. Quake players have always given me the impression that they are snobbish, think too hihgly of themselves, and really... should probably get a life elsewhere for getting pissy over a pc game sometimes. Ok, maybe that's because I get pwned too often by them.

Anyhoot, someone decided to capitalize on this hardcore-ness of the Quake players and is releasing Quake Live, a browser-based Quake 3!

You will still have to download a plug-in to launch the game though. And no it doesn't work on Mac.

URL: Quake Live
Source: Techcrunch

Daily Update

So I started this blog on 4th of February. To date, it has 20 posts inclusive of this one. That's an average post of 1 per day. Not too bad huh. The easy to use Blogspot really makes me feel more like typing and sharing some stories.

I know I somewhat cheated because some post (like the one with Keri Hilson on it) are just a copy and paste, and a few others are just random short posts. Who cares? :P I know you still like to read my blog because I now update it daily. Muahahaha...

A Reply To An Unposted Comment

So after reading my raw food post, and my leave a comment post, my dear housemate/good friend/high school mate/family friend left me a comment on MSN because she said leaving a message here is too ma fan (which I have since hopefully fixed).

Written by Ying
I'd be very interested to see if this would really work for you/ how long it will last you're the only one in the house who doesnt even eat fruits - buy n put there u never touch but to a certain extent i think this is good, just not 100% raw i dont think. WU JI BI FAN, so keeping it balanced is the best.

First and foremost, doesn't even eat fruits is a statement that needs to be corrected. Yes I don't eat fruits habitually, but I do not resent eating fruits at all. Ahaha. I don't like to eat stuff in between meals, because I am either full after a meal, or hungry but waiting for a meal and don't want to mess up my appetite. The downside is that, I don't eat fruits. Goodside is that, I don't eat chocolate and other unhealthy processed food too.

Second, wu ji bi fan, can be roughly translated as when things go extreme they would sink. I actually disagree with it in this context. In the opposite context, you can't say that if I include more instant noodles into my life then it would be good because it's now balanced. I don't think that the saying applies to everything. The things that I have read, showed tremendous gain going into 100% raw. Of course, I recognize that I might not be able to go 100% right from the beginning. I might even cheat occassionally and eat cooked food. But seeing how I am almost 100% cooked food eater, any 1% decrease that I can achieve is definitely a plus. Hak hak hak...

Finally, how long it would last is indeed a problem. If I am to rephrase it to better reflect the problem, would it be a problem to maintain it? I wonder. Variety is the key though. If everyday I keep eating the same thing, obviously it would be a huge problem to maintain. I am still simulating all sort of scenarios in my mind, hope it would be fine in the end.

I Wish I Have More Comments

Yes, if you read my blog, at least drop me a comment. type='text'>Raw Food Anybody?

I was first made aware of people eating raw food when Steve Pavlina, a self-development enthusiast decided to undertake such a (commonly perceived as extreme) dietary change in 2008. I have a lot of respect for Steve and I follow his blog avidly. So for him to decide to go on a full raw food diet, it intrigued me deeply about the reasons behind his decision.

Through 2008, he posted a lot about his new adventures, and I started assembling my own little puzzle on the full picture of raw food. He actually went on a juice feast as well and posted very positive gains despite stopping the diet half way. Reading his articles, I was very sure that turning raw is something that I would love to do one day. Believe it or not, one day all these mortal quests for money, status, and power will get old very quickly for me. My life is always about being different, and exploring paths that are not well established and well developed, something rather similar to Steve I would say.

Then lately, I came across this book on my mother's book shelf. It's a chinese book that basically talks about the secret behind not getting sick. I have always believe that human body is more than capable to heal and recover itself, and outlive the current belief of 100 years old capacity etc. This belief has slowly strengthened and developed even more strongly following a few books that I have recently picked up on. As I started noticing more wrinkles developing on my face, showing me signs of aging, it ignites a huge desire to reverse such effect.

In this chinese book that compiled in 1994, it unveils that what I believe is in fact, true and possible. One of the major downfall of human beings, is that we eat cooked food. In a super nutshell, cooked food acidify human's blood. When human's blood drops from weak basic (roughly pH 7.5 to 8.0), to acidic, it complicates the operations of our human body, and slowly develop into diseases. It actually coincides with some of the stuff I read from Steve, and also from other sources.

The book elaborated a lot and delved rather deeply into this topic of why human body gets sick, and how to prevent it eating raw food, and how some of the illnesses developed in human body. After finished reading the book, I am rather convinced that going raw is the way for me. But I am not just a cooked food eater, I love(d) meat!

I have not decided yet on whether to go vegetarian first, then vegan, then only 100% raw like what most people do, or maybe go on a 50-50 cooked/raw food combination, or go directly to eat solely raw food. I must say that as I acquired the strong desire for well being of my body, meat started to decrease in its attractiveness. So are cooked vegetables. I think most likely what will happened is that, I might just go on a non-committal raw food dietary change; ie I will eat cooked food if I feel like it, but otherwise I try my best to eat raw food.

A few problems that I may encounter are:

Recipes. It can get very boring if I keep eating the same things over and over again. I might do a lot of smoothies to shorten the eating time, it is best that they would taste awesome too. :P I will do anything to make my transition easier, even if it means going into a 80% or 90% raw only instead of 100%.

Energy. I do not want to feel hungry and lack of energy. The reason why I love meat is because that, they are really hard to digest and so I feel full for a longer period. Hopefully I will eat enough for the energy intake I need and get use to the empty stomach feeling. I am just going to swallow as much as I can and as frequent as I can until I figure something out. XD

Weight drop. If there is anything, I want to gain weight instead of dropping my weight. The detox process may actually, drop my body weight quite a bit. I just hope I don't look any skinnier. :/

Food purchase. Buying a lot of fruits and vegetables without getting any attention might be one super big challenge. Maybe I will do this every other day instead of making weekly purchase. Hope my fridge can fit though!

Isolation. I don't think I will be joining my housemates, or friends for dinner anymore (sorry Ying =(). It might get really lonely, but we will see how I will adjust into that. Maybe I will just eat when they are eating too. :P

Detox process. First few days to weeks, I might go through very bad detox process. But it is good for my body and I hope that it wouldn't be too severe.

I seriously wonder how it will turn out. You will notice that I am going into this very intuitively and not very scientifically, and some would argue that it's bad. I don't want to make my life too difficult and do all the unnecessary calculations, I would just adjust based on how I feel as I go. :)

Truth is, I think I have gotten the big picture in my mind on how to eat raw. The little details like how to make a green smoothie tasty may need a little more time to adjust, but I will get there eventually.

This will not be an immediate change. I am still fine-tuning my idea. Most likely I will start the transition when I go back to Melbourne. Oh, expect more raw food post in the future. XD

Note: If you are interested, the book is called 《不生病之真法》, by 王晖评 张家瑞.

Life Is Too Slow

I am just going to keep complaining until I do something about it. Yup. Eventually I think I will get embarrassed enough to actually, fix it. =(

New project is slow, old project is on hold, my life is in a shit hole. I think going back to Melbourne would exaggerate a lot of my currently, non-existant problems. Mainly because the living cost there is so much higher orh.

I like that opportunities are presenting themselves to me lately. But a lot of them are bordering from the outside of my comfort zone, it's a bit hard to decide if I should challenge myself.

I was just complaining to a friend, on how skills that I am comfortable with, are not professionally trained; and knowledge that I was professionally trained, are not stuff that I would like to use. I think I am quite good with programming. Lack of professional training gives me that sense of uncertainty that you know, just maybe what I know is not enough to actually design and program things for others. Yes I know it has always gotten me by just right. What if other's requirements are so much higher than mine?!

So while I really wanna make good use of my skills, and in actual fact through friends, I am being contacted for whether I am willing to program some stuff for others, I am hesitant in case I really am not as good as I think I am, and with money and reputation at stake here, it's a sticky situation.

Lately though, I contacted a "contractor" expressing my desire to sub-contract some odd jobs from him. He gave me some test and I think I did pretty well, I can sense him being impressed (mainly also because I offered a ridiculous low price to kick-start things). We talked a little and he didn't get back to me afterwards. I'm not sure if I was disqualified or anything, but the feeling that I "passed" the test gave me a huge confidence boost. I feel so much comfortable finding for jobs that require that area of skills now.

I have also stumbled across Elance.com lately. They have a few tests there actually that you can take to show your own skills to your potential employers. I think I am going to make full use of that website and get some much needed cash flow in for the mean time.

But argh, I hate that I am going back to Melbourne soon again. I really prefer a much grounded, settled life-style than flying here and there.

Politics

I don't suppose things like this could happen anywhere else in the world. Name a country or a state, with TWO of its government being dysfunctional. Nah go, give you 5 seconds. 5 4 3 2 1 *BEEP*! You can't right?

Perak's original government was asked to step down following a bunch of frogging within the state. Frogs are creatures that like to jump. So in this case, they are the elected reps who decided to bail ship and jump to the opposition BN. There is an entire interesting story behind that, but ultimately it costed PR the government because now, BN has the majority to form the new state government.

This is where everything went wrong. If only someone was smarter, more patient, and less dirty tactics. I mean seriously, you have the number, why can't you wait till the next state assembly to vote for a no-confidence, and kick out the state government right? But nah, that didn't happen. Instead someone barged into the palace, probably following a well rehearsed script and timeline, had the sultan to ask the Menteri Besar to step down, and name a new one.

It all seems alright except apparently, Sultan does not have the constitutional rights to ask an existing Menteri Besar to step down *gasp*. And so, Perak was "blessed" with 2 state governments. The one whom the people support, operates somewhere else while the one who seized power illegally, took the state offices.

Just when the entire nation is cursing PR for being so stupid, on top of spitting on the frogs who jumped, something happened. My my we must have totally underestimated the PR. Who would have thought that, they did something so beautifully following exactly by the rules and regulations?

And they barred the state excos from joining the state assembly. LOL. To my understanding, that would probably mean that the new state government would be somewhat dysfunctional too, though I am not sure what kind of policies have to be approved by the assembly and what don't.

Eitherway, regardless if in short term things go bad or good, I think it would turn out for the betterment of the country. I think there is enough momentum going on nowadays to bring down the federal government.

Learning Perl

Been playing with Perl for a little bit due to job requirements. So I followed through a short tutorial and thought it wasn't too hard. Many things are similar to most other languages and the logics aren't be too different. Although I am not an IT student, I think I have been exposed to a lot of languages through my life one way or the other. Some are due to my interest (not to say passion yet) with web-related stuff. Others are through studies in school, college, and university. :)

So yes, Perl in general wasn't too different. Still using the same kind of logics and all to run. It was not until I started looking into programming functions that it gets a bit different and confusing. It is possible to pass variables and arrays like $_ or @_ without any names, and I went O.O for a while.

Anyhoot, a bit of research got me through that... then I wrote my first working Perl function wheee.

If for some reason you are looking into Perl, I highly recommend Tizag.com. Got me through the basics fine. But anymore advanced have to rely on Google once again.

Coincidence?

Long long time ago, when Friendster was very popular, I was trying to look for my primary school best mate. You see I am a person that's very lazy to keep in touch with people, and after the first 2 years we went into different high school, we stopped catching up. Granted also, my parents were being very restrictive so it wasn't very convenient to get out during the younger years. And of course, my high school = Mon to Sat full day school, got time also rest or play games first la right or not? :P Damn tiring man those days.

So yea, I tried looking for him, but most probably because Friendster's search engine wasn't good enough back then, I couldn't find him. Fast forward one day, I was thinking about him, and funny enough, the next day he found me and added me. :O

Now a few days ago, I started thinking about someone too. She is a girl that sat beside me in primary school for quite a few years. I am not thinking about her romantically la, just wondering about how all these old friends are doing right now. Last I talked to her over ICQ was that she went to Russia to study medicine.

Then, BAM... I saw her request to add me as friend in the following day. *Gasp*

Most people would probably brush this off as mere coincidence. But I am not most people. ;) It definitely felt like I was picking up some information from the universe before things happened. Better still, I might be thinking of them because they are thinking about me, and I picked the signal up. Or I could be thinking of them, and my signals triggered them into looking for me?

Either way, here comes a problem... I have been having images of this primary school friend of mine lately especially before I sleep. We used to play sports together, and him like me, was a very good runner. Why is that a problem you ask? He has passed away years ago in a car accident. :S Last thing I want is for something non-living to come looking for me because whatever thoughts I am having connected both of us. >.<

Oh by the way, I still can't figure out why my room door opened by itself in the middle of the night yesterday. I swear it was locked properly. Waking up at 3am and seeing my room door opened is a very disturbing experience, though I wasn't exactly scared. Just a bit uneasy I think.

From Here To There

Abstract from Nerd - Truth or dare:

If someone’s standing there, stare say
Hey baby what’s your name
Don’t stand looking insane
Do you want to ride the train, welcome to the fast lane
If you’re in love beware
‘Cause these people they don’t care
All hands in the air
This is what we call truth or dare

Work has finally commenced for my new project. Mobile phones, satellite tv, wireless internet, and all the other random things that utilize electro-magnetic did not exist, and were probably perceived as impossible. If you were to even voice that your ideas of such things could exist, I think most people would think that you were retarded. I mean seriously, if you cannot see, you cannot touch, you cannot smell, you cannot hear, you cannot taste, then it cannot be true right?!

Still, they are everywhere in the world now. Who would have thought that we could just talk to a guy on the other end of the world with just a small device, regardless of where you are, in seconds... many many years ago?

Even if now, if I am to tell you that, there will be a day where dogs would be as smart as human beings, you will think that I am crazy too. Yet given such limitation of science, given the basic knowledge that science is hardly complete, science is ever expanding, human likes to fall back on science to explain everything.

What is the perceived definition of science? Whatever that can be proven by science is by its definition, scientific and therefore true. Whatever that cannot be proven by science is then, the opposite, which is not scientific, and therefore false. But do not mistake lack of truth to be equal to false. They are not. Lack of truth merely indicates the lack in capacity to prove that something is true.

Do you know that, there are no source of darkness, or source of coldness, or source of unhappiness? There are only lack of light, lack of heat, and lack of happiness. The first two options are scientifically proven and hence are easily acceptable by public. Most however, would disregard the third statement stating a lack of scientific proof. Yea yea yea, maybe someday you will find your proof. But if it takes centuries to come, it would be a pity to know that you have lived in such a great falsehood of assumptions.

So why not open up your mind a little bit, and accept that everything is possible, even if you think that they are not likely to happen?

Again, science is ever expanding. It should be used as a platform for expansion, not as an excuse for limitations. So how about a ghost story now? :P Ok maybe next time...

Because Streamyx Is Fucked

Oh well, I could not visit any website but the ones under Google's network, just thought I would take some time to blog instead.

New Project

A few days ago, I published that I am putting my project on hold for a while. I have also mentioned that, hey I have a brilliant idea right? Interesting on how things developed, a long time friend has exactly the same idea and guess what? We are working on things together now. :D I guess there will be no break for me but what the heck, I so excited about this new project of mine, I don't even need a break anymore. I love how the universe brings me the relevant people, opportunities and circumstances when I have decided on what I want. ;) How can it not work when the world gets aligned like that right? :P

Free Air Asia Tickets

Oh, and I managed to snatch 2 free Air Asia tickets to Melbourne end of the year. I wanted January 2010 but they were all taken by the time I figured out how to search for the free tickets *pout*. So I had no choice but to book the ones that are on the less popular dates... such as Christmas zzz. I flew back last Christmas too and the whole world questioned about WHY DID I FLY ON CHRISTMAS WTF?! I hope I don't have to go through the same thing again. But hor, the one who asked me the most was my baby. Too bad she's flying with me this time and don't get to bitch anymore. :P

Quitted Coffee

I noticed that I have an extreme disgust towards coffee lately. It is a strange phenomena considering that I had been quite a die-hard coffee addict. Right now, it just totally doesn't appeal to me now, I don't know why. I have been really enjoying some expensive Chinese Tea (okay I have no idea whether my mum bullshits me or not but she told me they aren't cheap) and gotten really used to the bitter taste. AHHHH... The bitter taste is so refreshing la. Then now the sweet coffee taste really gets on me and I don't like it anymore. Hmmm... Even my recent favourite Teh Tarik isn't getting much love anymore. But at least it isn't the same kind of disgust that I am experiencing with coffee.

I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised. Coffee must has stopped being a vibrational match for me somewhere down the line for something that I want to achieve. Maybe it's putting on weight, living more healthily or consciously, or maybe I had been relying on it as a depressant and I am no longer as depressed anymore.

Community Notice - Free Air Asia Tickets!

This is a community notice to my fellow readers. Thanks for your loyal support. In case that you might not be in Malaysia, and are not aware of the latest Air Asia promotion, here is a brief overview.

Basically Air Asia is giving away 500,000 for free, to many international locations! Departing period is from October 2009 to January 2010.

I have been trying to book the ones to Melbourne since this morning. Cannot fucking find any link to make any reservations. So I made a phone call, the Customer Service told me that I have to make the bookings online and insisted that the website works for him. But I checked with 2 people and they said it is not working for them too.

Now I would have thought that, if I can't book no one else can also right? I was so wrong. I refreshed the page in the evening and FUAH ALL TAKEN EDI ONE. I started panicking and am still trying hard to get a free ticket. =(

How come this one so hard one?!

UPDATE: Actually, you have to search the date one-by-one for free tickets! I hope when tomorrow morning I try still got. Need to nail down a few details with my girlfriend first. :/ If only I figured it out earlier.

Me And My Neighbourhood

How do one qualify to call where he lives his neighbourhood? When some random mixed rice stall punya auntie can recognize him so well despite him staying in Australia most of the time.

Hmmm that's right.

I used to frequent this mixed rice stall near my house. I think my father actually ate there everyday for lunch after he has retired. So when I was back home, I would just follow my father and go makan there la.

Now few years back, my food consumption is already more than the average people in KL. So I would usually be ordering about 4 dishes, and finishing them all without a problem. Ok maybe a little bit at the last few bites but they are so manageable. :P My father always said that, she must be remembering me so well because I eat so much. Then when I left, she would ask my father if I went back to Australia already.

So today I went to the same stall on the way to my old house to do some stuff. The boss auntie was at the back busying with some stuff. Then she saw me and she was quite excited hehe. She came upfront, greeted me, said long time no see... asked about how I am and everything. Ahhhh... So nice and warm la. It feels very good with a great sense of belonging. :P I wonder if I have ever left any other trace in anyone's life without realizing.

Then again, I have moved. It is no longer my neighbourhood anymore.

Need To Adjust My Sleeping Time

I don't know why, it is very easy to fall into the trap of sleeping late in Malaysia. Before I go to Melbourne, sleeping around 3 to 6am is quite a norm. Then actually, first 2 years were still quite the same there. But as soon as I moved to suburban, things changed for me. Sleeping early is not only habitual, it is strongly recommended too. Mainly because if you are hungry at the middle of the night, and you will because of the cold weather, you are pretty much doomed!

I have been maintaining my sleeping time to before 1am quite well so far. Occasionally yes, I do slipped and slept late. There are also other times of insomnia which made me stayed up till early morning. This week though, I think I have been sleeping rather late consistently. Hopefully it does not become a habit though. I don't really want to sleep so late all the time because it does mess up my routine quite a bit.

Also, not sure if it is the excessive teh tarik that I have been consuming or what, losing appetite orh. And maybe girlfriend problem contributes a little too hmm.

I Wish It Was Easier

Closer friends would have no doubt heard me mentioning that I am going to return to Malaysia after I graduate last year. Fast forward a year, there I was, still in Melbourne. Half a year later, I started telling people that I would be returning to Malaysia again. Then again, I am not as set anymore.

You see I love this land where I grow up in. The slangs, the friends, the food, the mamak, the highways, my parents, my little isolated heaven in Bukit Jalil etc etc... I love them all. And deciding to return home, on many levels, it's because I want to continue to enjoy them on a daily basis. Yes Malaysia is not as well developed as Australia. But I still like it better here. I want to settle down here, at least for the time being.

However, one dominating factor that I have in Melbourne that keeps changing my mind is my girlfriend. I know my decision to leave breaks her heart tremendously. It breaks mine too. If only there is a way to get her over here and stay with me, I would have no hesitation anymore. It is not as easy to just break away a relationship that one truly treasure just like that in order to pursue something else. I know for some, it may not be as hard. For me though, it's probably my worst weakness. I am extremely soft-hearted. :/

Still, I wish for a way out. A win-win situation. I want to keep the relationship, and I want to come back.

Lil J And His Lil Project

I know a lot of friends have doubts when they see what I am doing. Their main concern is that, it is a very competitive market. I need to be way over the top to beat some of the players. And I never really tried explaining why. It isn't easy for me to explain, and it wouldn't be easy for them to understand.

I strongly believe in the abundance of life. That there is room for everybody in this world. All we have to do, is to nibble at the pie one bite at a time, and you will eventually swallow all of them. I tried not to let the big picture let me down. Going against the most established player in the industry?! Are you crazy?! Nah, I am just trying hard to make today a better day than yesterday. :)

Being a programmer and the project manager isn't always easy though. I had always complained to my friends, there is a conflict of interest in that two roles. And having a conflict of interest with your own self, has to be the toughest thing to handle. Often, I would sit down in a quiet area, sipping my cup of teh tarik, and writing down all the features that I want to implement. I would be so excited about my ideas and all, and everything just seems to be great. Then I get down and dirty into programming and BOY! It is so tedious, so sien, so ma fan, soooooooo undescribably boring. I wouldn't say that the end result is exactly what I want at this moment. There are definitely a lot of rooms for improvement, and I wish that I could continue to focus on the bigger picture instead of minor details. A point to note is that, when one is focused too much on minor details, one really loses sight of the whole thing.

I have tried to outsource the programmer role to someone else to no avail. I will do that again when I am back in Melbourne, hopefully netting higher quality programmer though at a higher cost.

For the time being though, I think I am going to take a break. A break from all these programming, a break from this project, a break from this conflict of interest. I think I have been trying too hard to push against the flow, and it isn't working. I want to recharge a bit and think about the next step. I do not want to fall into the trap of time and money, thinking that I have to get everything done asap to get all the money.

Actually, I acquired a brilliant idea just yesterday. Something that I could finally proclaim as giving myself a competitive edge against most other players. :) But there is something that I need to wait for before I could work on it. Meanwhile, I think I will just work on smoothing out my vibrations. Ease out the effect of time and money on my own life. That might mean that I would end up getting a casual job. If that would buy me time against a greater ideal of life, why not right?

Funny how the very reason of me not wanting to go into any work previously was actually that, I wanted to focus and get things done asap.

Staying Strong

Yesterday, I was at the verge of a breakdown. Basically something happened, and triggered a chain of negative thoughts. It was painful to suddenly realize that, "hey, I still have a lot to work on"; that "hey, you seem to be not progressing like you wanted to"; that "hey, wtf are you doing now?".

So as I review each and every area of my life, in the lens of a negative mood, I found a lot of problems. It was like I had been building my life on thin ice, and a tiny impact started cracking everything. I had a hard time controlling my emotions, but eventually I fell asleep and it was okay.

I woke up feeling relatively better today. Yes occasionally my vibrations would still hover back to the negative state, but I have been managing it well to pull it back up. I suppose I should thank the world for bringing me this awareness, this realization that where I am now is far from where I want to be. It's like slap that allows me to wake up and re-align my direction.

As the day goes through, I started getting more and more clarity about how I am going to tackle all the temporary obstacles in my way. Then it started getting exciting again. It will be a long year ahead, but I hope this year will seriously bring me a lot of growth.

All these previous years, somehow I wasted a lot of time staying stagnant, barely moving anywhere. Ok that did no justice for my efforts. At the bare minimum, I graduated from an engineering school that's not easy to graduate. I should at least recognize my efforts and appreciate it. :) Still, plenty of other areas to work with. I am not going to set a deadline for myself. It is said that the limit of time and money, are the two traps that human like to set to make themselves miserable.

I suppose the main problem that I want to achieve right now, is that I want to jump from A to C. By Law of Attraction, it wouldn't happen. So all I should be focusing now, is to move into any place better than A, then slowly slowly closing to B, and eventually end up at C.

2009, let's do it!

Once upon a time at band-camp...

I have decided to move my blog to Blogspot because it's much easier to maintain. :) That's all.
