Just feel like blogging today. So... blog lo. But I don't have a very... interesting topic to talk about, so... thought I would re-visit my old all-in-one blog and write something. No Audrey, I did not cease blogging. :P I just happened to go through a very lull period.
Yup, I am envious of those people who have a niche topic that they can blog endlessly about. I am not blessed with that kind of circumstances, so I shall blog with the only unchanging interest I have... all about myself. :D
I booked a car last week, a granite grey Proton Saga. It is expected to arrive any time now. If it's not tomorrow, then definitely sometime next week. Of course I am full of anticipation! :D Finally the freedom to break out of my own house anytime I want, how cool is that? On the plus side, while this is not my first car (actually my third car now), this is my very first brand new car. More reason to celebrate! :D
Well I know it's not one of those high-end Europe import, but woot... it's my car. So it's going to be the best car in the world!

New Bank Account
Opened a Public Bank account yesterday. I suppose this would be my new main bank account this day onwards. I have a bank account with Maybank but I think I might close it down in the future, unless I see the need for maintaining more than 1 account.
Main reason of me signing up with Public Bank is due to their Visa Electron debit card. You see Maybank as some sort of Visa debit card too (or is it Mastercard) but it doesn't work online. I mean seriously how often do you need a debit card if it's not for online usage? Pretty stupid imo. So I did a bit of research and found out that, Public Bank, RHB and Tune Money's Visa debit cards work fine online. And since Public Bank is a chinese company, more faith in my own race, and I went ahead opening an account there.

Blogspot Needs Some Stats Overview!
Blogspot should seriously consider including some stats overview in their dashboard. I am annoyed at how the easiest way to see if there is any new comment posted, is via the "Edit Post" section. Sure I can scroll down the blog and check the end of each post, but it is not very convenient especially when I post everyday, then I have to scroll all the way down.
I think Wordpress does quite well in this area, but I have no re-collection of the actual stats data they show anymore.
Yes I understand that Blogspot is primarily catered to people who love the simplicity of it. Surely there is a plugin or anything, even if to be installed on the blog itself, to show the latest comments?

Furnishing My Room Part 3
I bet you must be wondering where is part 1 and 2. Truth is, there isn't. I didn't post anything.
Today is the third day that I am back. First day, I went straight to Ikea to survey a bit. I was tempted to buy stuff, but decided to hold back a little just to process everything. Yesterday, a carpenter came to my house and had a look at my room to build a closet. Today, I went back to Ikea and bought a desk and a mattress.
Technically that's about it. But I am still looking for, a proper bed base, which I might actually ask the carpenter to build for me. And a nice office chair. My house has extra la, just not quite comfortable for me. The arm-rests are so low that, my arms are dangling and not resting on any of it. Annoying.
At the same time, I am trying to decide the color of my closet. Also deciding whether I want to repaint my room before the closet is being installed. GAHHHH. Colors remain a very annoying question to me. Literally anything that has to do with colors, would fry my brain like what it is doing to me right now.
I feel like painting 2 of the walls in different color just to create a contrast. Ahaha... At the same time I am wondering if it's necessary. Would it create a pleasant visual stimulation?
Then I chose a very very subtle green color for my closet. I didn't want dark colors because of I don't want mosquitoes hiding there. If there is any mosquitoes in my room, it better be super obvious with the bright background, and I will get rid of it in no time. :P
Anyway, what goes well with a Beige wall color? My wall is a very subtle Beige color.

Twitter vs Facebook
Twitter thing has been really huge. A lot of people didn't get it and is like a full-time fanatic of it now. Others still don't, and probably won't too. Facebook wanted to buy Twitter. Google still talking to Twitter about the acquisition I heard. It is obviously the next big thing online! But what's so fascinating about Twitter really?
The answer lies in the vast information that it contains.
Yes they are just random short messages, most of the time gibberish too. But businesses are dying to know who talked about them. Random short messages like, "The new nike shoes are stupid" are valuable information that businesses want to get their hands onto which Google does not currently have. Well yes people do sometimes write an entire blog post or forum thread to rant or praise a certain something. But most people don't. And trust me, if you have an entire post targetted at you, you are probably in a very huge trouble.
There are more to this actually. Some argue that instant updates are very valuable for businesses too because if something goes wrong, they can fix it right away. It is not very obvious at this stage, but imagine when one day businesses start to monitor Twitter feeds instantly, how they could get in contact with their pissy customers and sort things out straight away. Talks about efficient and proactive customer service!
Anyway, as Facebook failed to acquire Twitter, Facebook has decided to create its own. The recent redesign of its homepage is an initiative to counter Twitter's popularity. There is still a lot to tweak, but is it a good start so far? I would say yes.
I was using Twitter for a while, but it surely isn't as attractive to Facebook. For one, my network remain small and negligible. Sure that after adding some popular figues, I do get some followers. None of these people really mean business, and I hardly get any feedback from them. So sometimes I wonder what's the point in tweeting anything at all. On Facebook it's different though, I updates all my friends, people who are really interested to all kind of craps that I am doing, and I get comments to motivate me to post even more stupid, and not so stupid updates.
People who really love Twitter are usually really famous themselves. Twitter is an easy tool to post short non-commital updates to their loyal fan base. And since it's a one-way relationship, it allows independent control over who you would like to receive feedbacks from, and who to post the updates to. But to the regular John Doe, this feature seems rather meaningless. I think Facebook has some sort of similar feature too, called Facebook Page is it? I am not sure.
Yes sure one day when I am really famous, when the work that I do invades my private life, then perhaps I see great incentive separating both of them. For now though, Facebook remains an attractive alternative just because I am posting to people who care, and I get feedback from people.

Skinnier?
When I go back to Melbourne, I can certainly feel that my life style and eating habit was taking a toll on my body. I wasn't eating enough, I was eating irregularly, and certainly that doesn't sound like a recipe to building more body weight. Strangely, others gotten fatter with such a life style. I bet they were nibbling too much on junk food that's why.
Well yes I was eating raw food once in a while, especially in the first 2 weeks. Then because I was hardly feeling full eating out, I didn't work out quite as much. Frankly, if you work out and you can't fill your tummy, it's the worst feeling ever! My portion is about 1.5 the size of a regular meal, so it's not easy to order. Plus food really isn't that cheap in Melbourne anyways.
So when I came back, being observably skinnier, I thought I had a lot to work on again. To my surprise, I still weight around 63kg. Now I have established this one thing that... my body weight now steadies at around 63kg since prior to this, I weighted around there anyway. This is of course good news because not losing weight is awesome!
Then I did a brief strength assessment so that I could find out where to resume my work out schedule (note I am following some sort of simple program). Again surprisingly, my strength didn't diminish much either.
Now in this house, lives a puzzled young man wondering why does he look skinnier when his weight and his strength didn't change much. HMMMM. Oh well I suppose I should make working out a regular routine anyway regardless of how I look.

Kuala Lumpur
After a month long holidaying in Melbourne, I am finally back in KL. My flight was rather empty so I was able to sleep lying down on 3 seats. But they were still freaking compact arghh... Damn Air Asia!
Now that I am back, first thing I need to do is furnish my room. Despite living in the room for 2 months prior to this, it has virtually nothing in there. I have a mattress and 2 tiny book shelves that's about it. So now that I come back, time to build a closet, get a bed frame, a desk, and a comfy seat for myself! Otherwise really, I have no where to unpack all my stuff.
I think within 2 weeks I will have most of my stuff ready. In fact 1 week would be more than enough already. The other tiny little things I have up to years to collect. :P
Either way, this is just a short post to tell you that... I have arrived safely. You won't see me in Melbourne for a while to come. But you can now find me in KL with my Malaysia mobile phone number.
There are still things to work on. I will update you as I go. :) "As the lil J takes on the world..." That's all my blog is about aight? ;)
